Alex Martin was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Geography department at the University of Northern British Columbia. His doctoral research focused on chaining community-company relationships in forest-dependent communities in British Columbia’s northern Interior. He holds a PhD in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies from UNBC and an MA in Rural Development from Brandon University. His research interests focus broadly on the economic and social geographies of rural and remote communities in Canada.
With the On the Move Partnership, Alex explored the local impacts of new large mining projects on recovering forestry communities in BC’s northern Interior.
