The On the Move Partnership would go nowhere without its people. Most On the Move Co-investigators are based at academic institutions where they work in an array of disciplines from sociology and business, to health promotion and cultural geography. Their research areas are wide-ranging, and many have previous experience working as part of large, interdisciplinary research projects. Our Partners come from the community, academia, labour, and government. They provide essential support, both financial and in-kind, and play an integral role in shaping our research questions and methods. Our Trainees and Affiliates also come from academia and the community, many are students in undergraduate, Masters or PhD programs, others are Post-doctoral fellows, and some are research assistants affiliated with partner community organizations. On the Move core Staff are housed at Memorial University, and have backgrounds in managing multi-year, interdisciplinary research projects, community, and academic work. Our Advisory Board have business, labour, community and scholarly backgrounds, and provide independent intellectual input and support to the project. And of course our research participants, the workers and their families, employers, union representatives, community organizations, policy makers, and others willing to share their employment-related geographical mobility experiences, play a crucial role in On the Move, without their generous collaboration, the project would not be able to proceed.
