Nova Scotia Community College

 NSCC

The Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) is a pan-provincial, publicly funded college. With 13 campuses 13 campuses located throughout the province, the NSCC offers 130 occupationally specific certificate, diploma and advanced diploma programs, adult learning and other access programs, apprenticeship training, part time credit courses and continuing education for more than 28,000 learners each year.

The college’s mission of “building Nova Scotia’s economy and quality of life through education and innovation” requires a broad and robust knowledge base to understand what skills are needed by employers in Nova Scotia’s workforce. Further, the college’s ability to design and deliver learning in increasingly flexible ways requires a deep understanding of the changing dimensions of learners’ choices and requirements for continuing to acquire new knowledge and skills. Research on employment-related geographical mobility (E-RGM) will help inform the NSCC as it makes decisions about what programs to deliver and how to deliver them in timely, flexible and affordable ways, which will be of great benefit to the college, its learners, host communities, and local businesses.
