Governance

The On the Move Partnership governance structure consists of an Advisory Board, an Executive Committee, a Program Committee, a Trainee Caucus and Component Teams.

The Advisory Board provides independent intellectual input and support to the project, monitors our overall progress, and provides advice on ways to strengthen and sustain the partnership within and beyond its time frame. The Advisory Board meets annually via videoconference, and face to face in conjunction with full team meetings. The Advisory Board currently has eight members.

The Executive Committee meets up to 10 times annually, or as required, to review budgets, monitor research progress, support outreach and dissemination, and plan collaborative initiatives and team meetings. Members of the Executive Committee are: Barb Neis, Sharon Roseman, Lois Jackson, Katherine Lippel and Michael Haan.

The Program Committee reviews detailed activity reports from each of the research components and from the trainee caucus; monitors research and training progress and outputs; discusses any administrative concerns; and reviews component budgets. They also work to strengthen collaboration across the team and integration of research findings. Team co-investigators and partner representatives, along with a representative from the Trainee Caucus, serve on this committee, which meets twice annually.

The Trainee Caucus consists of students and post-doctoral fellows engaged in the Partnership. Representatives of the Caucus help to identify and organize trainee and mentorship activities (seminar series, workshops, etc.) and ensure open lines of communication between the Executive, Program Committee and Trainees.

Component Teams, which include co-investigators, partners and trainees, meet twice per year or as needed to monitor research component progress and results, identify training needs, knowledge mobilization opportunities and issues for inclusion in activity reports to the Program Committee. The Component Teams correspond with the project research components.
