Tina Luu Ly

tluulyTina Luu Ly is a Ph.D. student in Sociology at the University of Western Ontario, supervised by Dr. Michael Haan. Her research interests include immigrant integration and mental health, social networks, and quantitative methods. Her doctoral research investigates the role of virtual communities—via social networking sites—in immigrants’ integration into Canada. She is also a part of the Western Centre for Research on Migration and Ethnic Relations. She holds a Hons. B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Psychology, and a M.A. in Sociology from McMaster University.

Tina is working with the Statistical Component and the NL Construction Component of the On the Move Partnership. As a statistical analyst, she will be using large datasets to examine commuting patterns for work in the construction sector in NL and Atlantic Canada as a whole.
